I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the Order 211, of September last, abolishing tattoo and roll calls, except reveille, is permissive or compulsory.

The only obligatory roll call is reveille. Other roll calls may be held on such occasions as may be ordered by officers commanding stations and units.
