HC Deb 13 March 1902 vol 104 c1263
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether it is intended to raise the pay of the native troops of the Indian Army in proportion to the increase in the pay of the British troops.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Lord G. HAMILTON, Middlesex, Ealing)

The pay of the different branches of the native Army was substantially increased in 1891 and 1896, and I see no reason for raising it again in 1902.
