HC Deb 13 March 1902 vol 104 cc1284-5
MR. P. A. M'HUGH

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the Dickson Estate, Tullaghan, County Leitrim, has been under the control of the Courts since 1884, and that the tenants have repeatedly expressed a desire to avail themselves of the provisions of the Land Law (Ireland) Purchase Acts, but have been unable to effect a purchase; can he state what is the obstacle to purchase by the tenants on this estate; and will he endeavour to facilitate a sale to the tenants on equitable terms.

MR. WYNDHAM

This estate was listed before the Land Judge on Thursday last. The Land Judge granted an adjournment till June, in order that proceedings might, meanwhile, be brought to the stage at which a request could be issued to the Land Commission for an inspection under the 40th Section of the Act of 1896.
