HC Deb 25 June 1902 vol 110 c11
CAPTAIN SINCLAIR (Forfarshire)

To I ask the Secretary of State for War, whether certain Officers of the Volunteer Force in Scotland, who were asked sometime ago to volunteer for service with the Militia at the Coronation, and on volunteering were informed that they would have to serve with the Militia during their four weeks annual training, and subsequently agreed to do so, have now been informed that their services will not be required.

(Answer.) General officers were instructed to endeavour to fill up vacancies in the Militia during training by utilising the services of Volunteer officers, but no allusion whatever was made to the Coronation.—(War Office.)
