HC Deb 24 June 1902 vol 109 cc1515-6
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, in view of the fact that during the war in South Africa no guns were available for the purpose of fortifying the hills † See page 1, 378. which command the new Kowloon Territory, Hong Kong, and Mirs Bay, will he say whether provision has been made in this year's Estimates for a supply of modern guns for this purpose.

May I refer the hon. Member to the reply given in answer to a question put by him on the 24th of March,† to which I have nothing to add?

In consequence of the unsatisfactory nature of the right hon. Gentleman's reply, I shall take the earliest opportunity of calling the attention of the House to the matter.
