§ CAPTAIN NORTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that when a militia regiment is disembodied at short notice, hardship is experienced by a number of the men, who are unable to arrange to get work quickly, he will consider the advisability of giving officers commanding regiments long notice of the approximate date of disembodiment.
§ MR. BRODRICKThis question has been thoroughly considered, and, as the House has been already informed, it appears inexpedient to retain the troops in order to give them a longer notice.
