HC Deb 12 June 1902 vol 109 cc493-4
MR. MOON

TO ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will explain why £500 is set down for the year 1902–3 in respect of a subsidy for a steam service on the Karun for six months up to 31st December, 1901.

(Answer.) The subsidy was only payable in case of a deficit being shown in the accounts of the Steamship Company for the six mouths ending 31st December, 1901. It could not, therefore, be paid until the audited accounts of the Company for that period had been presented.—(Foreign Office.)
