To ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will say what are the duties of the international Slave Trade Bureaux or Bureau at Brussels and Zanzibar.

(Answer.) The duties of the Bureaux in question are defined in Chapter V. of the General Act of the Brussels Conference, signed 2nd July, 1890, and published in the "Map of Africa by Treaty," Volume 1, p. 48. In this Act the Bureau is directed to draw up regulations with a view of securing the object of the institution, namely, the centralisation of documents and information which may be required for the repression of the slave trade in the maritime zone.—(Foreign Offire.)
