§ LORD CHARLES BERESFORDTo ask the Secretary to the Admiralty, with reference to the fact that the engineer officers of the Royal Navy are not satisfied with their status, whether there is any proposal at the Admiralty with regard to this question.
(Answer.) The question of the position of engineer officers of the Royal Navy is a subject which has engaged and is engaging the attention of the Admiralty very closely. I am not in a position to make any statement on the subject beyond those which I made on behalf of the Admiralty in this House on the 21st and 25th February last.†—(Admiralty.)
