JOHN CAMPBELL (Armagh, S.)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he has received a copy of a resolution, passed by the Archbishops and Bishops of Ireland on the 24th June, at Maynooth. protesting against the action of the Treasury in withholding or limiting the grant hitherto offered to all local authorities levying a local rate for technical instruction; and will he say what steps he proposes to take to continue the grant asked for in the resolution.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURA Resolution on this subject has been received, and it is now engaging the attention of the Treasury and the Irish Government.
