HC Deb 07 July 1902 vol 110 c916
MR. CATHCARTWASON

To ask the Lord Advocate if his attention has been directed to the fact that in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland Poor Law Medical Officers have repeatedly brought under the attention of the Government the circumstances of their position as compared with medical officers holding similar appointments in England and Ireland; and if the Government will propose any legislation to improve their position.

(Answer.) The Secretary for Scotland is not at present prepared to legislate in the direction suggested by the hon. Member.—(Scottish Office.)
