HC Deb 31 January 1902 vol 102 cc35-6
MR. P. A. M'HUGH (Leitrim, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he is aware that a portion of the Tottenham Estate, county Leitrim, is now offered for sale in the Land Judges' Court; and, whether, in view of the fact that the portion offered for sale is situate in the centre of a congested district, he will advise the Congested Districts Board to consider the advisability of purchasing it with a view to the enlargement of adjoining holdings.

MR. WYNDHAM

This matter has been considered by the Board. As the estate was well stripped and saleable through the Land Commission, the Board decided there was not sufficient reason for its intervention, and declined to make an offer for the property.
