HC Deb 31 January 1902 vol 102 c40
MR. O'SHEE (Waterford, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he can state how many police were stationed in Tallow, county Waterford, on and previous to the 1st August last; why were they sent at that date; and how many are stationed there; and have they been directed to enter houses at Tallow for the purpose of reporting conversations.

MR. WYNDHAM

The strength of Tallow Station on and prior to the 1st August, 1901, was seven men, Six additional men were sent to the station between the 14th and 21st August in consequence of the prevalence of boycotting and intimidation in the district. There are still thirteen men at the station. The reply to the last enquiry is in the negative.
