HC Deb 28 February 1902 vol 104 c11
MR. REDDY (King's County, Birr)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the fact that the body of Cottrill, of Northenden, was taken from the building in which it was placed and ill-treated, and whether he intends to prosecute the persons concerned in this attack, and also those who broke the lock of the door. The hon. Member complained that the Question had been mutilated at the Table.

* THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (MR. RITCHIE,) Croydon

Yes, Sir, and I have made inquiries into the matter, with the result that, though the accounts in the newspapers appear to be considerably exaggerated, I have thought it right to place the matter in the hands of the Public Prosecutor.
