HC Deb 28 February 1902 vol 104 cc10-1
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex, Romford)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can afford the House any information regarding the circumstances under which, in the year 1880, the British Chargé d'Affairs in Bolivia received his papers from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to the Bolivian Government, with a request that he should leave that country in twenty-four hours.

* SIR M. HICKS BEACH (for Lord CRANBORNE)

The answer is in the negative, because, as stated in reply to the hon. Member's Question on the 17th instant,† there has been no British Diplomatic Representative accredited to the Bolivian Government since 1853.
