HC Deb 27 February 1902 vol 103 cc1269-70
MR. PIRIE (Aberdeen, N.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in view of the future peaceful settlement of South Africa, and with the object of preventing dangers arising from the employment of the force known as National Scouts in warfare against their countrymen, instructions will be sent to South Africa that they shall be employed as far as is possible in duties which will not bring them into active collision with the Boer forces.

MR. BRODRICK

The matter rests entirely with Lord Kitchener, with whose discretion I do not propose to interfere.
