§ Mr. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that an extra force of police, ten in number, has lately been drafted into the district of Dorra and Clare Castle, county Clare; and can he explain the reason for this action, the expense of which is thrown on the district.
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM, Dover)The normal police force of this district has been increased by seven (not ten) men in order to afford adequate protection to certain individuals who have been subjected to intimidation.
