HC Deb 11 February 1902 vol 102 cc987-8
MR. SOARES (Devonshire, Barnstaple)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, having regard to the necessities of Imperial Defence, he will communicate with the various horse breeding colonies, requesting them to subsidise owners of horses suitable for warlike purposes in order that the Mother Country may have a right to claim such horses in time of war on payment of a reasonable price.

LORD STANLEY

The whole question of remounts is under consideration.
