HC Deb 11 February 1902 vol 102 c999
MR. ROCHE (Galway, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether under the Police Code a constable on marriage in his district has to be removed to another county and district; whether he is aware that the postmistress at Woodlawn, County Galway, is married to a police constable in the same district; and whether he will cause inquiry to be made into the matter with a view to the carrying out of the proper regulations.

MR. WYNDHAM

The rule to which the hon. Member refers does not apply to this case, inasmuch as the wife of the constable in question is not a native of the county.
