HC Deb 12 December 1902 vol 116 c1027
MR. M'KENNA

To ask the Postmaster General, as representing the Secretary of State for the Colonies, whether the exports of sugar from British Guiana have increased or decreased during the past five years.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain, for the Secretary of State for the Colonies.) Starting from 1897-8, the quantity of sugar exported shows a decrease for the next two years, and an increase since then; the quantity exported in 1901-2 being rather more than that for 1897-8, while the value is rather less.
