§ MR. H. J. WILSON (Yorkshire, W. R., Holmfirth)To ask the Secretary of States for India if he will state why Section 204 of the Cantonment Code, 1899, was extended on 27th. June last to the city of Hyderabad, and to 109 villages in the vicinity of the Hyderabad Cantonment; and will he state the area so affected.

I have received no information on this subject, but I may point out that Section 204 of the Code cannot operate in the city of Hyderabad and 109 adjoining villages as suggested by the Question. These localities are outside the jurisdiction of the Governor General in Council.
