§ MR. J. CHAMBERLAINThe Acting Governor has stated in a telegram that the whole matter was, in his opinion, an anti-police riot, but I must await a full report by mail. The latest telegram received yesterday stated that as far as then reported all was quiet and no further trouble probable.
