MR. NORMAN

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will state what total amount has been paid for the use of the Marconi system of wireless telegraphy and the purchase of instruments; upon how many ships this system was installed; upon how many ships it is now in use, and upon how many ships a different system of wireless telegraphy is in use.

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. ARNOLD-FORSTER,) Belfast, W.

In the opinion of the Board of Admiralty, no public purpose will be served by supplying the details asked for in the hon. Member's Question, and I regret, therefore, that I am not in a position to furnish them.
