HC Deb 16 May 1901 vol 94 cc266-7
MR. DALY (Monaghan, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the committee of the Monaghan County Council at their last meeting passed a resolution regretting the expenditure of the ratepayers' money on the Cavan and Monaghan Lunatic Asylum, which has been going on for the past two years, and whether he will order an inquiry as to the need for the work being carried out.

MR. WYNDHAM

This matter is now under consideration by the Joint Asylum Committee, who have deputed a sub-committee to investigate the expenditure, and, if necessary, to suspend work.
