I beg to ask the Lord Advocate if he will state how many foreign trawlers were observed by the Fishery Board cruisers in the Moray Firth during the year ending 31st December, 1900, and will he state the number of vessels of each nationality.

I am informed by the Fishery Board that during 1900 there were forty foreign trawlers reported by commanders of fishery cruisers as having been observed working in the Moray Firth. Of these five were Danish, eight Icelandic, four German, seven Norwegian, six Belgian, and ten Dutch.
