HC Deb 06 May 1901 vol 93 c774
MR. M'FADDEN (Donegal, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state how many lady examiners are employed by the Intermediate Education Board of Ireland; and why, having regard to the number of Irish ladies who are graduates of the Royal University of Ireland, more lady examiners should not be employed; and will he say whether appointments to the office of examiners under the Board are made after competitive examination.

MR. WYNDHAM

Five lady examiners are employed in the present year by the Intermediate Education Board. The answer to the second paragraph is in the negative.
