§ MR. O'MARAI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the police tore down and destroyed placards and notices convening a legal meeting of the United Irish League in Thomastown, on Sunday, 21st April last; and will he state by whose authority the police acted in this manner.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThe placards were of an inflammatory character, calculated to provoke a breach of the peace, and were removed by the police acting under the orders of the District Inspector.
