HC Deb 06 May 1901 vol 93 c741
SIR JAMES FERGUSSON (Manchester, N.E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will take steps to procure the recognition of the Army service of reserve and discharged soldiers serving in the police, the post office, and other Departments of the public service towards their pensions, in like manner as obtains in the case of persons transferred to those Departments from other branches of the Civil Service.

MR. BRODRICK

This matter would involve legislation, and I fear the War Office is not the only Department which requires to be convinced of the necessity.
