HC Deb 03 May 1901 vol 93 c607
MR. O'DOHERTY (Donegal, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the resolutions passed by nearly every county council in Ireland, calling upon the Government to assimilate the law in Ireland to that of England with reference to the use of traction engines on roads, and if a Bill will be introduced by him this session for this purpose.

MR. ATKINSON

My right hon. friend has already stated that he will consider the question of assimilating the law in this respect in both countries. The Government cannot undertake to introduce legislation on the subject this session.
