HC Deb 03 May 1901 vol 93 c593
MR. BRYN ROBERTS (Carnarvonshire, Eifion)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he has any information to the effect that the plague has occurred at several of the military barracks and camps in the vicinity of Cape Town, and also in camps in other parts of the colony.

LORD STANLEY

The reports of the cases of plague among the troops only mention the locality in the following:—One at Hermon camp, Paarl District; two at Green Point, Cape Town; two at Cape Town. The total cases of plague amongst the troops up to date amount to fourteen among European soldiers, twenty native drivers, and seven other employees.
