HC Deb 03 May 1901 vol 93 cc617-8
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he can state when the Bill dealing with drunkenness in licensed houses, referred to in the King's Speech, will be introduced.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR, Manchester, E.)

I am afraid I can make no statement on this subject at present.

MR. TRITTON (Lambeth, Norwood)

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that a large number of his own supporters who memorialised him on the subject last December are very anxious to see this Bill introduced, and will he endeavour to meet their wishes?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

If I either had or could make time, I should be glad to meet the wishes of my hon. friend and other persons, both in connection with this Bill and with other Bills.
