HC Deb 14 March 1901 vol 90 c1558
MR. WILLIAM REDMOND

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if any steps are being taken to revive the Hay-Pauncefote Treaty.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR (for Lord CRAN-BORNE)

The Hay-Pauncefote Convention has lapsed, the time for ratification having expired. No steps are being taken by His Majesty's Government to revive the Convention, but they would be ready to consider in a friendly way any proposals made for that object by the Government of the United States.
