I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can state what were the Votes in Supply the savings from which were by leave of the Treasury used to purchase for the Government the field guns purchased in Germany.

These guns were charged to Vote 9, Sub-head B, Field Artillery, 1900–1, and at the time they were ordered there was no reason to anticipate any excess on that Vote as a whole.
