HC Deb 16 August 1901 vol 99 cc1169-70
MR. FLYNN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has any communication to make to the House in reference to the appointment to the vacant position of fishery inspector in Ireland, and whether full inquiry into the qualifications and practical experience of candidates will be made before filling up this vacancy.

MR. WYNDHAM

The reply to the second paragraph is in the affirmative. Beyond this I have nothing to add to my statement in answer to the questions addressed to me on the 20th. June on this subject.†

MR. FLYNN

Will the appointment be made before the reassembling of Parliament?

MR. WYNDHAM

I should think it most improbable. It may never be made.
