HC Deb 30 April 1901 vol 93 c257
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, seeing that many of the fifty million defective Mark Iv. bullets were made by private contractors, will he state the total sum which was paid to them for this work.

LORD STANLEY

No, Sir. As I have previously explained to the hon. Member, I cannot do so without giving considerable unnecessary trouble to the department concerned.

MR. WEIR

Could not the information be obtained from the books at the War Office in two or three minutes?

[No answer was returned.]

MR. WEIR

I shall raise this question on the Estimates.
