HC Deb 29 June 1900 vol 85 c77
MR. WILLIAM REDMOND

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can say what has become of King Prempeh; and whether, in view of the condition of affairs in Ashanti, the Government will consider the advisability of restoring the King that he may use his influence for the pacification of his people.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

Prempeh is at present in Sierra Leone. The question of his being restored to Ashanti cannot be entertained.
