HC Deb 19 June 1900 vol 84 c447
*SIR CHARLES DILKE (Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether it is possible to circulate the Annual Report of the Chief Inspector of Factories, with a view to the discussion of the Home Office Vote.

MR. HANBURY

I do not think the Report can be circulated before Thursday morning at the earliest. So far as my present information goes there has been very considerable delay on the part of the printers, for which they will, of course, be asked to account.

*SIR CHARLES DILKE

Then what course does the Leader of the House intend to take with regard to the Home Office Vote on Friday?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

I understand the right hon. Baronet is unwilling to take the discussion—

*SIR CHARLES DILKE

I am not unwilling, but other Members may be.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

If there is an idea that more time should be given for the study of the Report I will not press the Vote, but will take Votes in Class 2 in lieu thereof.
