HC Deb 24 July 1900 vol 86 cc1044-5
DR. TANNER

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if he has any official information showing that, in consequence of the arrangements, out of twenty-four nurses employed in the Orange River Colony, fourteen have succumbed; and whether 100 more doctors and 200 nurses are now required, and stores stacked at base are to be sent up to the front.

* MR. WYNDHAM

Eight nurses have died in South Africa. Lord Roberts has quite recently asked for twenty more surgeons and fifty nurses. These are being sent. It is visual for stores to be stacked at the base and sent up as required.
