§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made with the electric traction experiments on the Metropolitan Under-ground Railways; and whether there is any prospect of electric traction being introduced on those railways at an early date.
§ MR. RITCHIEI am glad to be able to state that substantial progress has been made with the experimental work on the District Railway, and that it is proposed to run a train for the conveyance of passengers between certain points on the line in the course of a few weeks.
