HC Deb 05 February 1900 vol 78 cc566-7
MR. LABOUCHERE (Northampton)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has copies of the letters that were exchanged between himself and the Solicitor of the Chartered Company of South Africa in connection with certain telegrams sent to him for confidential perusal and return; and whether he will consider if those letters might be laid upon the Table of the House without detriment to the public interest.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

I must refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave in debate on the 19th October. I have nothing to add to that.

MR. LABOUCHERE

What was the answer? Will the right hon. Gentleman repeat it?

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

No. I prefer to let the answer speak for itself.
