M'CRAE (Edinburgh, E.)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he will state when the result of the inquiry conducted by the late Secretary to the Treasury into the grievances of the Second Class Examining Officers of Customs will be made known to the officers concerned.
§ MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAINMy predecessor did not recommend any alteration regarding these men as a result of the inquiry held last summer. Certain proposals affecting them are now before the Treasury, but I have not yet had time to examine them.
