HC Deb 19 May 1899 vol 71 c1031
MR. NICOL (Argyll)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate, whether a school board, could erect the secondary department of one of their schools into a higher class school under Sections 62 or 63 of the Act of 1872, and so become eligible to share in the grants proposed under the Minute dated 27th April, 1899?

* MR. A. G. MURRAY

There is nothing to prevent a school board from coming to a resolution in terms of Section 62 or 63 of the Education Act of 1872, with respect to any school to which these Sections apply, and if that resolution were approved the school would become eligible to share in the grant under the Minute of 27th April, 1899.
