HC Deb 16 March 1899 vol 68 c955
MR. DILLON

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland why no Sub-Commission has sat in Listowel for 15 months, seeing that there are over 150 cases waiting trial, and some of those cases are second term cases on estates which are in the Land Judge's Court.

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I am informed by the Land Commissioners that it Was hot possible, having regard, to the claims of other districts, to arrange a sitting for the district referred to during the period mentioned. It is probable, however, that a list containing cases from the Union of Listowel will be issued before the end of next month, though no definite arrangements have as yet been made. The Commissioners have no information which would enable them to distinguish between cases situate upon estates in the Land Judge's Court and others not in that Court.
