§ MR. PICKERSGILLI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether all the Reports of the Inspectors of Prisons made to the Prison Commissioners are published unaltered and without omissions in the Annual Report of the Prison Commissioners presented to Parliament; and whether the short Report signed by the Inspectors and published in Appendix No. 14 to the Report of the Prison Commissioners for the year ended 31st March, 1897, is the only Report made by the Inspectors during that year?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENTNo, Sir; in addition to the short Annual Report to which the hon. Member alludes, and which is published in full, each Inspector on each periodical visit to a prison furnishes a detailed Report on that prison which is not published.
