STEVENSONI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is able to announce the date of the publication of the Greek Loan for the payment of the Turkish indemnity; whether the four weeks within which the Sultan is bound to evacuate Thessaly date from the day on which the publication takes place; and, whether the obligation is based solely on the stipulation of the Græco-Turkish Treaty of Peace, or whether the three Powers guaranteeing the Loan guarantee also that Thessaly shall be evacuated within the period named?
MR. CURZONI am not yet able to announce the exact date of the publication of the Greek Loan. There still remain some preliminaries to be completed. The four weeks stipulated in the Treaty of Peace dated from the day of publication. No guarantee of evacuation has been given.
