HC Deb 11 August 1898 vol 64 c898
MR. CHANNING (Northamptonshire, E.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the inquest held on 28th July on Charles Edward Holliday, labourer in the coal yard of the London and North Western Railway at Northampton, whose death was caused by fracture to the skull received while on night duty loading engines at the Far Cotton sheds; has his attention been called to the fact that the evidence did not throw any clear light on the way in which the deceased met with the fatal accident, while his cap was found at the bottom of a pit; and whether he will have the circumstances inquired into by an inspector or sub-inspector of the Board of Trade?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (for Mr. RITCHIE)

Yes, Sir; a sub-inspector has been ordered to investigate the circumstances.
