HC Deb 31 May 1897 vol 49 c1631
MR. DILLON

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he proposes to take the Committee on the Finance Bill?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

I hope to be able to make some further progress in Committee on this Bill on Thursday: but I do not expect to be able to give the hon. Member the opportunity which I promised him of moving the clause which he has placed on the Paper until after Whitsuntide.
