I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he will agree to the Return of the amount expended by the London County Council on negotiations and inquiries with respect to the purchase of the London Water Companies which stands on the Paper this day?

I am not aware of an objection to this request, and I shall be willing to agree to the Return.
