§ MR HOGANI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there is any ground for the apprehension now felt in Australia with respect to the probable early annexation of the New Hebrides by France; and, whether the joint agreement between England and France in reference to this group is still in force?
MR. CURZONThe agreements entered into between France and this country in 1887 and 1888 with regard to the New Hebrides are still in force, and Her Majesty's Government are, therefore, not aware of any grounds for the apprehension to which the hon. Member refers.
