HC Deb 09 April 1897 vol 48 c842
MR. J. P. FARRELL (Cavan, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, can he state the nature of the proposals made to the Treasury by the Irish Education Commissioners for the increase of the salaries and results fees of work-mistresses in Irish National schools; what sum of money was covered by the proposals: and what wore the grounds on which the proposals were rejected?

MR. HANBURY

No, Sir. I cannot state the nature of any proposals submitted by a Department to the Treasury but not sanctioned by the latter, as such communications are confidential.
